Seller Policy

Effective Date: March 8, 2025

As a Seller, you play a key role in ensuring a safe and trustworthy experience for Buyers on Upcyclers.

This policy outlines your rights and responsibilities and is part of Upcyclers’ Terms of Service.

Sellers are responsible for understanding and following these rules, as well as complying with any applicable local laws.

Violating this policy may result in account restrictions or termination, at Upcyclers’ sole discretion.

Selling Fees & Pricing

It’s currently free to list items for sale on Upcyclers.

Sellers choose their own prices for both the item and shipping. They keep 100% of the item price, while the shipping cost is meant to cover mailing expenses.

To avoid unexpected costs, sellers should check shipping rates before setting their shipping price, as costs may vary based on package weight, size, and distance.

Upcyclers adds a 15% marketplace fee on top of the seller’s price. The total price—including the item price, shipping cost, and marketplace fee—is clearly displayed in the product listing. At checkout, buyers will see a full breakdown of these costs before completing their purchase.

The marketplace fee supports your Upcyclers experience, including customer support, advanced features, and expanding the marketplace.

Discounts & Promotions

Sellers have full control over their pricing. While Upcyclers may encourage discounts, it is entirely up to each seller to decide whether to offer them and at what amount.

All discounts set by sellers may change or end at any time. Upcyclers does not control or guarantee seller-offered discounts.

What You Can Sell

Upcycled Items – Old or discarded clothing, accessories, and footwear transformed into higher-value, one-of-a-kind pieces. Think thrift flips, reimagined designs, and secondhand styles with a unique twist.

Secondhand & Vintage – Pre-loved clothing, footwear, and accessories ready for a new home or an upcycler to transform. Fabrics, remnants, recovered materials, and reclaimed pieces waiting for a second life.

Brand-New Items – Clothing, accessories, footwear, and supplies only if they were purchased secondhand.

Deadstock Items – Leftover, surplus materials from a fashion brand or textile mill’s production process due to overproduction, quality issues, or small flaws. This includes underutilized textiles that never made it to retail.

Closeouts & Overstock – Excess inventory from brands or retailers that was discontinued or overproduced and was headed for landfills.

Pre-Existing Notions & Supplies – Old or vintage sewing patterns, buttons, zippers, trims, and salvaged crafting materials.

Garments & Items with Imperfections – Stained, torn, or slightly flawed pieces that still have life left. Someone’s trash is another person’s treasure. We aim to reduce fabric waste by keeping these items in circulation instead of in landfills.

Prohibited Items & Enforcement

Items that fall outside our supported categories or are otherwise prohibited or unlawful may not be listed for sale on Upcyclers. See Prohibited Items Policy.

Upcyclers reserves the right to remove any items or content that violate this policy, our Terms of Service, or any other Upcyclers policies, at our sole discretion.

If you list an unauthorized or prohibited item, Upcyclers may remove the listing, and your account may face temporary or permanent restrictions.

Any sales involving prohibited items may be canceled, and Upcyclers reserves the right to withhold payment for those transactions.

Seller Responsibility for Listing & Pricing

Sellers are responsible for truthfully, accurately, and completely describing their items. This includes:

  • Providing detailed and informative listings with original videos and/or photos.
  • Including key details such as condition, flaws, and unique features.
  • Ensuring the item is clearly represented in photos, with at least one uncropped image of both the front and back.
  • Avoiding misleading photo edits, such as collages or heavy effects, that could prevent Buyers from accurately assessing the item's condition.

Brand Representation & Authenticity

  • Sellers must not make misleading claims that suggest brand endorsement.
  • Upcycled branded items must clearly state they have been modified from their original form.
  • Brand logos, official trademarks, and packaging must not be used in a way that could mislead Buyers.
  • In some cases, such as luxury brand listings, sellers may be required to provide proof of authenticity.

See our Brand Representation and Trademark Policy.

Item Ownership & Condition

  • Sellers must have possession of and ship the actual item described in the listing.
  • All listed items should be clean and functional.
  • Sellers must respond promptly to Buyer questions or requests for additional details.
  • Images and descriptions may be reviewed by Upcyclers in case of a dispute.

Pricing & Sales Commitment

  • Sellers may set their own prices.
  • Once a Buyer purchases an item, the transaction is binding, and the Seller must provide the item at the agreed price.
  • Sellers must follow all additional requirements outlined in this policy and Upcyclers’ Terms of Service.

Order Fulfillment

Once a transaction is successfully completed, Sellers must fulfill the order by shipping the item(s) to the Buyer using an approved carrier: USPS, Fedex, UPS or DHL

Sellers must submit the tracking number via the order details page on their Seller Dashboard.

We encourage Sellers to use eco-friendly packaging and minimize waste throughout the shipping process.
