Pricing
It’s currently free to list items for sale on Upcyclers.
Sellers choose their own prices for both the item and shipping. They keep 100% of the item price, while the shipping cost is meant to cover mailing expenses.
To avoid unexpected costs, sellers should check shipping rates before setting their shipping price, as costs may vary based on package weight, size, and distance.
Upcyclers adds a 15% marketplace fee on top of the seller’s price. The total price—including the item price, shipping cost, and marketplace fee—is clearly displayed in the product listing. At checkout, buyers will see a full breakdown of these costs before completing their purchase.
The marketplace fee supports your Upcyclers experience, including customer support, advanced features, and expanding the marketplace.
Order Fulfillment
To fulfill your order, package and ship your items within three days using an approved carrier (USPS, FedEx, UPS, or DHL) and add the tracking number to your Order Details page in the Seller Dashboard.
Please note: Your order will not be fulfilled and may be canceled if you do not add the tracking number to your order in the Seller Dashboard.
We encourage you to use eco-friendly packaging or repurpose boxes to minimize waste and keep Mother Earth happy.
Returns
Returns are only allowed on Upcyclers if an item is materially different from its description. Buyers have three days to notify us if they wish to initiate a return. In such cases, we will hold the funds for the order and request additional information from both the buyer and seller. You will have two business days to respond. If a return is approved, the buyer will be responsible for return shipping charges.
Upcyclers carefully reviews return requests and makes final decisions based on our policies. All decisions are made fairly and with the best interests of both buyers and sellers in mind.
Payments
Funds from each sale will be transferred to the seller's account three days after the order is marked as delivered. Sellers can initiate a transfer of funds to their bank once a week.
Please note that buyers have three days to report an issue or request a return. If a return request is made, payment may be held until the issue is resolved.
Seller Responsibilities
Keep it honest – List items accurately. Whether upcycled, secondhand, or imperfect, give buyers a clear and honest description. Authenticity earns loyalty.
Take clear, well-lit photos of your entire item, front and back - To avoid returns, ensure you include a clear photo of both the front and back, fully in the frame. Make sure nothing obscures the item, and refrain from using special effects or filters.
Branded Items – If selling altered designer pieces, clearly state that they are not affiliated with or sponsored by the brand.
Brand Misrepresentation Policy (read full policy here)
As upcyclers, we use pre-existing clothing and materials. To avoid brand misrepresentation or confusion, sellers must clearly disclose all modifications made to branded items. Do not mislead buyers into thinking an item is officially connected to the original brand. Clearly state that your product is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by the brand.
If you mention a brand name, it must be purely for descriptive purposes (e.g., identifying original materials) and should not imply any official affiliation.
Examples of Proper Use:
- “Upcycled from a vintage XXX brand jacket” → Clearly states that the item was originally from XXX brand but has been modified.
- “Made using reclaimed XXX brand fabric” → Describes the material source without implying brand involvement.
Examples of Misrepresentation (Not Allowed):
- “Upcycled XXX brand jacket by XXX brand” → Misleadingly suggests the brand made or endorsed the upcycled product.
- “Custom XXX brand bag – Official” → Falsely implies official brand affiliation.
- Using original brand logos, labels, or packaging in a way that may confuse buyers.
We’re building a sustainable, creative, and positive marketplace—let’s keep it that way!
Thank you for being part of the Upcyclers movement! Together, we’re transforming the future of fashion and design, one upcycled piece at a time.
